About IFSC and MICR codes
BranchFind.com is a searchable directory of 1,71,735+ bank branches across India, covering 1281+ banks. Use it to look up a branch's IFSC code, MICR code, address and contact number before making an NEFT, RTGS, IMPS or UPI transfer.
What is an IFSC code? An IFSC (Indian Financial System Code) is an 11-character alphanumeric code that uniquely identifies a bank branch participating in India's electronic funds transfer systems. The first four characters identify the bank, and the last six digits identify the specific branch. Every bank transfer in India using NEFT, RTGS or IMPS requires the recipient's correct IFSC code.
What is a MICR code? A MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) code is a 9-digit code printed on cheques that identifies the bank and branch for cheque processing. While IFSC is used for electronic transfers, MICR is primarily used for cheque clearing.
